Approach

Approach

CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a practical form of psychotherapy to assist individuals in developing strategies for healthy coping. This therapy is concerned with making sense of what is happening in the present and how perceptions influence they way we respond and feel. It is usually structured and goal oriented. Many of these concepts can be used as tools in combination with other theories.

SFBT Solution Focused Brief Therapy is a goal-focused and evidence-based therapeutic approach incorporating positive psychology principles and practices that helps promote change through constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.

EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements). This is highly effective in reduction of vividness and emotion associated with trauma memories.

CPT– Cognitive Processing Therapy is strongly recommended for the treatment of PTSD. The patient creates a new understanding and conceptualization of the traumatic event so that it reduces its ongoing negative effects on their current life.

ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages people to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or seeking to avoid them.
